Inside ITC Ratnadipa: Furniture for Colombo's Newest Landmark

ITC Ratnadipa is one of South Asia's most prestigious new hotels, a striking presence on Colombo's waterfront with a celebrated collection of signature restaurants and bars. Starwood Furniture was entrusted with furniture for its food-and-beverage venues and public areas — a project where every space needed its own distinct personality. The hotel's outlets range from the refined fine dining of Avartana to the relaxed energy of the Ahasa bar, the coastal Indian Ocean Pavilion and the Sagara spaces. For each, we produced bespoke pieces: dining chairs, banquettes, bar stools, occasional tables and statement reception furniture. The materials palette combined solid teak with premium upholstery and contract-grade engineering, ensuring the furniture could withstand the relentless traffic of a luxury hotel while still feeling crafted and individual. Working to the exacting standards of the ITC brand meant close coordination on detailing, finishes and durability testing. The completed venues demonstrate how thoughtful, well-engineered furniture can give each space a clear identity while contributing to a coherent whole — exactly what a landmark hospitality project demands.
