Sustainability

Our commitment to the environment runs through every grain of wood we work with.

Our Approach

Honest Materials, Responsible Processes

At Starwood, sustainability is not a trend - it is a foundational principle. From the moment we select our raw materials to the final inspection before shipping, every decision is made with responsibility in mind.

For furniture, we work with Indonesian plantation teak wood and mahogany, with the applicable timber-legality documentation reviewed for the specified material and project.

Starwood's listed ISO 9001:2015 credential concerns quality management. Environmental practices are addressed through timber documentation, material planning, waste reduction, and the project-specific sourcing requirements agreed with each buyer.

Our Practices

How We Build Responsibly

Six pillars of sustainability that guide our operations every day.

01

Documented Teak Sourcing

Teak sourcing is reviewed through applicable supplier, legality, and certification records. Buyers can request the documentation relevant to their specified material and order.

02

Waste Reduction

Our production processes are optimized to minimize wood waste. Offcuts are repurposed for smaller products, and sawdust is recycled for further processing.

03

Handcrafted Excellence

Our furniture is carefully handcrafted by experienced woodworkers, ensuring exceptional detail, durability, and timeless character in every piece.

04

Artisan Craftsmanship

Every Starwood piece is handcrafted by skilled artisans in Jepara, combining generations of woodworking heritage with modern precision and international quality standards.

05

Plantation & Legal Timber Records

Furniture specifications prioritize documented plantation and legally sourced timber. The applicable species and supporting documents are confirmed for each project.

06

Quality for Longevity

Durable construction and repair-conscious material choices can extend furniture service life and reduce unnecessary replacement. Requirements are reviewed against the approved project specification.
