What to specify when choosing a bed

Which mattress must the bed fit?

Send the mattress width, length and depth, not just a size name. Identify any separate bed base and the required finished sleeping height so the drawing can show how the components fit together.

How does the bed fit the room?

Mark the bed position, headboard width, skirting, bedside units and nearby switches on the room plan. Include delivery-route restrictions and the access your operator needs for housekeeping.

What needs approval on the drawing?

Ask for confirmation of the overall footprint, mattress recess, headboard fixing approach and any assembly required on site. Resolve these details before approving the selected design.

Which finish and upholstery should be quoted?

Identify the visible timber finish and, where the design includes upholstery, the fabric reference. Share cleaning requirements and ask which parts can be accessed for maintenance or replacement.
